Tuesday 12th February 2018 is Safer Internet Day and children from 1st to 6th classes will engage in activities to raise awareness about staying safe online.

Also, in line with our Child Protection policy, all classes are currently engaging in Stay Safe lessons, a primary school based approach to ensure the safety of children. Our Senior Room (4th, 5th and 6th classes) learning about electrical circuits by making working lighthouses. They turned out very well, well done all!
Having received our second Active Flag in June, we hit the ground running from September and have had a very active first few weeks of school.

School closes today for Summer holidays. We will re-open at 9.20am on Wednesday 30th August.
We wish our departing 6th class – Alyson, Jamie, Niall, Peter and Steven – all the best in Secondary School, they have been a terrific class and a great example to their classmates. We will miss them.
We hope you all have a great summer and look forward to seeing you all in late August. Keep up all your activities over the summer but please stay safe on the roads and around farmyards.
We have been awarded our second Active Flag – the first school in County Kilkenny to achieve this.
We will have an in-school celebration later this term, complete with a flag raising ceremony.

Our choir were 2nd in their main competition at the Kilkenny Music Festival over the weekend. They sang “Shine Bright Like A Diamond” and did a great job, it was very close between 1st and 2nd! The choir were also 3rd in the Sacred Music competition.
Well done to all the children, their teachers Mrs. Phelan, Mrs. Crilly and Mr. Coogan and thank you to all our parents for having them so well turned out on the day.
Well done to Emma, Leanne and Rachel who took part in the 4th to 6th class solo category at the Kilkenny Music Festival. They sang beautifully and received very high marks from the adjudicator. Well done girls. Best of luck to our choir who are taking part in the festival tomorrow.
