School closes today for Summer holidays. We will re-open at 9.20am on Wednesday 30th August.
We wish our departing 6th class – Alyson, Jamie, Niall, Peter and Steven – all the best in Secondary School, they have been a terrific class and a great example to their classmates. We will miss them.
We hope you all have a great summer and look forward to seeing you all in late August. Keep up all your activities over the summer but please stay safe on the roads and around farmyards.
We have been awarded our second Active Flag – the first school in County Kilkenny to achieve this.
We will have an in-school celebration later this term, complete with a flag raising ceremony.
Well done to everyone for their hard work. Attached is our newsletter for April/May

Our choir were 2nd in their main competition at the Kilkenny Music Festival over the weekend. They sang “Shine Bright Like A Diamond” and did a great job, it was very close between 1st and 2nd! The choir were also 3rd in the Sacred Music competition.
Well done to all the children, their teachers Mrs. Phelan, Mrs. Crilly and Mr. Coogan and thank you to all our parents for having them so well turned out on the day.
Well done to Emma, Leanne and Rachel who took part in the 4th to 6th class solo category at the Kilkenny Music Festival. They sang beautifully and received very high marks from the adjudicator. Well done girls. Best of luck to our choir who are taking part in the festival tomorrow.
All classes will be starting a 10 week programme – Fit 4 Class – during P.E. The programme works on agility, balance and co-ordination and more details can be found under the Active Flag 2016-2017 tab.
There are some photos under the Active Flag tab and the March 2017 update.
As part of our Active Flag cross curricular activity we held a slogan competition. This was won by Charlotte with the slogan
“See you soon, I’m going to be active with Coon!”
The children were then asked to design posters around this slogan. The standard was very high and it was difficult to pick a winner, but our winning poster was designed by Kelsey, followed very closely by runners-up Emma and Eva.
